Somewhere along the way, elopements got boxed into this idea that you have to be a certain kind of person to “belong” in the outdoors. The hiker. The backpacker. The couple who shows up in matching boots and isn’t afraid to roll around in the dirt for the sake of the shot.
And if that is you? Amazing! I’ll happily chase sunrise with you, pack snacks in my camera bag, and cheer you on while you double-knot your hiking boots.
But in reality, you don’t need to be a seasoned hiker, wear a flower crown, or rock the latest Patagonia fleece to belong here. You don’t have to ditch your traditions, downplay your culture, or squeeze your love story into someone else’s mold. Eloping means choosing freedom. And with that freedom comes infinite, beautiful possibilities.

Sure, there are couples who want to summit peaks at sunrise, and that’s incredible. But there are also couples who want to exchange vows in a cozy forest nook five minutes from the trailhead, or on the shoreline with their toes in the sand and their family by their side. There is no one right way to elope!
Whether you’re down for a short stroll, an off-road adventure, or a full-on mountaintop mission, the point is: your outdoor comfort level is more than enough. We’ll plan your elopement around what feels good, what brings you joy, and what allows you to feel present and relaxed.

There’s this weird narrative sometimes in the elopement world that you have to show up in muddy boots, windblown hair, and a flannel for your day to feel real. But that’s not the vibe for everyone, and that’s okay!
You can wear a tux, an elegant gown with a long train, or a cute jumpsuit. You can wear your traditional attire, your brightest colors, your most badass boots, or barefoot sandals. You can even change outfits halfway through. What matters most is that you feel comfortable and feel like yourselves.
P.S. I do recommend wearing weather-appropriate attire, bringing layers, and wearing shoes that are suitable for the trail we are trekking!

This idea that elopements are only for young, outdoorsy couples is just not true. You don’t age out of being deeply, wildly in love. You don’t need to be a certain size, race, gender, or experience level to deserve a wedding day that feels like you.
I’ve photographed couples of all ages, backgrounds, and body types eloping in Lake Tahoe — and every single one has brought something beautiful and unique to this space. You belong here, just as you are.
Whether you’re exchanging vows lakeside in snow boots or wearing a traditional lehenga on a forest trail…
Whether you’re walking hand-in-hand in suits that make you feel sharp as hell…
Whether you want a slow morning with tea or a champagne pop as the wind tosses your veil…
Love doesn’t fit in a box. And your wedding shouldn’t either.

Whether that means wearing your cultural wedding attire, saying your vows in your first language, including religious or spiritual elements, or simply showing up as your truest self, your elopement can honor where you’ve come from and who you are.
We’ll hold space for what matters to you. That might mean dancing barefoot in the forest, sharing a tea ceremony before your vows, or walking into your ceremony with the people who raised you.
Your heritage and your love story belong here.
