It’s about those giddy, just-engaged vibes when everything feels electric and new. And that’s exactly what Rita and Dave brought to their mountain engagement photos in Lake Tahoe.
They came all the way from Pennsylvania to visit family in Tahoe, but this wasn’t just any trip. Two days before our session, Dave proposed in Napa (!!) and completely surprised Rita. What she didn’t know? He and her sister, Marina, had already been plotting behind the scenes to make sure this moment was captured. Marina even helped plan outfits, and can we just pause for a second to admire that RING?!
Eagle Rock = Perfect Spot for Your Mountain Engagement Photos
We chose Eagle Rock for their engagement session. It is one of my favorite short hikes in Tahoe. It’s a steep little climb, but the payoff is absolutely worth it. Wide open views, golden summer light, and the kind of landscape that reminds you why Lake Tahoe is such a magical place for couples who love the outdoors.
Rita and Dave had visited Tahoe before, but this was their very first time at this spot. And you could just see the awe on their faces as they soaked it all in.

Their Mountain Engagement Photoshoot Full of Joy
From the start, these two were all about having fun. They popped multiple bottles of champagne, laughed nonstop, and leaned into every playful, tender moment. And both of Rita’s dresses were GORGEOUS!
That’s what I love most about engagement sessions—it’s not about stiff poses or forcing anything. It’s about letting the day unfold, and watching two people thrive in the glow of “holy shit, we’re doing this!”
Rita and Dave’s connection was effortless. The way he looked at her, the way she laughed with him… pure joy! These are the kinds of sessions that remind me why I freaking love what I do.
