Dan and Becky live on the opposite side of the country, and they are actually getting married in South Carolina! However, they knew they wanted something extraordinary for their engagement session. Initially, this was the place Dan planned to propose (Becky caught on, whoops!)—so instead, he saved this sacred space for their adventure engagement session. And wow, did it deliver.
If you’ve been dreaming about turning your engagement photos into an unforgettable experience, this is your sign to do it! Just take a look at these Yosemite engagement photos and get inspired for your own adventure!
We had initially planned to hike to an alpine lake for sunrise, but with muddy spring trails and standing water along the route, we pivoted. I suggested we explore several iconic (and some lesser-known) Yosemite locations instead—and it ended up being even better. The park was still asleep when we started, meaning we had that dreamy light and zero crowds. It was INCREDIBLE!
We made our way to a tucked-away spot near Tunnel View with only one other couple around, hit Yosemite Falls before the sunlight hit it full-force, and ended our session in the golden glow of El Capitan Meadows. That massive granite wall never stops taking my breath away—and seeing Dan and Becky wrapped up in each other’s arms, surrounded by towering peaks, was simply amazing.
Yosemite is special. Sacred. There’s just something about standing in that valley, surrounded by ancient giants, hearing the roar of the falls, and watching the light slowly shift over stone. I never take it for granted. And I make sure my couples don’t either.
Dan and Becky were the perfect match for a Yosemite session—easygoing, joyful, and fully down for an adventure. They trusted me through every change of plan and embraced every wild moment. Their laughter echoed off canyon walls, their energy was contagious, and their love was the kind that radiates without trying.
I won’t deny that having your pictures taken in Yosemite is not your typical engagement session. It takes:
I always scout before shooting (even if I’ve been 30+ times), build in extra time for travel between locations, and plan sunrise-to-sunset flexibility. I also help with where to stay (Mariposa is my fave!) and how to pack for the day.
But if you’re willing to go for it, Yosemite will give you a story you’ll be telling for the rest of your life.
“Thank you so much, Amanda! We really appreciate you taking the time to scope out all the locations for us! The photos are fantastic. The lighting for the meadow photos is incredible!”
Let Dan and Becky’s story be your green light. This is your one engagement session—why not make it something you’ll remember forever? Whether you want to climb, hike, watch the sun rise together, or just soak in the views while being fully, wildly in love—I’ll help you plan an experience that feels like you. Nature-rooted, joy-filled, and real.
